Web Hosting Servers
There are basically three kinds of web hosting servers – shared server, VPS, and dedicated server. All the three types of web servers have their own pros and cons. If you thoroughly understand the advantages and disadvantages of each type of hosting, it will help you make an informed decision for choosing a server that is the best suited to accommodate all the specific hosting requirements of your website.
Shared Server
The shared server hosting is the most affordable as well as the most popular. Obviously, the main reason behind this huge popularity is the low amount of hosting cost associated with the same. All you need to spend is just a couple of dollars per month if you choose to go for this option. However, a shared server hosts plenty of websites on a single server. It means you will actually be sharing the server space and other resources with plenty of other webmasters.
VPS
VPS stands for Virtual Private Server. Price wise, it comes in between the shared and dedicating server. You may be asked to pay somewhere around 40-50 dollars for this type of hosting services. However, it is worth spending that much, as it offers you dedicated size performance and features. In this case, a single server hosts multiple website but each allocation made on this server behaves as a separate individual web server.
Dedicated Server
Dedicated server means a server that is dedicated only for your website. You rent an entire server in this case. This way, you enjoy better reliability and enhanced performance. However, price wise, this hosting solution is the most expensive. You may have to pay hundreds of dollars per month for it.
